

OK, so this is the guy that looks like your favorite cartoon woodpecker. With its handsome plumage the red-headed woodpecker is one of the most easily recognized birds found in the Eastern United States. They are fun to watch at the feeder and have a veracious appetite.
While quite proficient at catching flies, they love a wide variety of fruits, seeds and nuts from feeders as well.
