“Something tells me we’re into something good” with the hermit thrush. A quiet and unassuming bird, the hermit thrush lives up to its name. During breeding season this bird primarily eats insects and small worms, but during winter months will be seen partaking in a wide variety of fruits.
Some of its favorites include blackberries, raspberries, junipers and strawberries.
